Meet Diane

For starters, I am a lifetime resident of Maryland, I was born in Baltimore County and my family moved to Carroll County in 1973, I can't imagine living any place else! From Ocean City to Cunningham Falls on the Catoctin Mountains,

I love Maryland!

Building sandcastles at the beach, eating the best steamed blue crabs, going out on my Dad’s 14’ Runabout boat, growing my own pumpkins from seeds, trick or treating in the Randallwood neighborhood of Randallstown, MD and attending Maryland State Police family picnics at Patapsco Valley State Park are a few of my fondest childhood memories.

My dream was to provide similar memories for my children. With that in mind, I married my hubby, Chris (pictured in the photo to right with me) in 1993. Together, we have had the pleasure of raising three children, all of whom have made us extremely proud, Claire, Cole and Mike (pictured in the photo to right with me). I can't leave out our furry kids, Mater and Maisy  (also pictured below in the photo with me) our Rottweiler’s and Mischief our Jack Russell. Dogs are family in my opinion; they offer us a daily example of unconditional love and dedication that is unparalleled.

What a beautiful world it would be if people had hearts like dogs.

All three of our children attended Carroll County Public Schools and also enjoyed local programs many kids enjoy: Cub Scouts, sports programs and summer camp. Many of our children’s activities allowed Chris and I to make lifelong friends and offered volunteering opportunities.

When our children were young, day trips were a great way to take a break from our daily routine. Living in Central Maryland put us in a great position, geographically, to visit incredible local attractions parks,Baltimore’s Inner Harbor,The Baltimore Zoo,National Aquarium, B&O Railroad MuseumBaughers’ Orchard, the NCR Trail and well, you get the idea. There are a lot of activities to enjoy in Maryland; these are just a few things we managed to do.

Prior to real estate, my Dad, a retired Lieutenant with the Maryland State Police, and I operated gas stations/convenience stores for 23 years. Although it had its trials and tribulations, both working for & with family, and the 24/7 obligation, I loved it! We ran a little place in Hampstead; I lovingly named "Hampstead Country Crown." That store was a cross between "Cheers" where everybody knows your name and "Petticoat Junction" because a CSX train ran right past our place. The train conductor and crew would regularly stop the train for coffee, ice cream, fresh made deli sandwiches and other convenience items.   ~~ That's how I came up with "Real Estate Philling Station."

Ocean City, MDIn February 2004, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer followed by kidney cancer. It was a challenge like no other for me, my family and friends. I decided to face it head on and do everything in my power to live. I am thankful for the experience and for surviving. 2014 marks my 10th anniversary, cancer free!

With all that experience under my belt I chose real estate as my second career because I can build on the skills I had and learn new ones. I’ve brought my organizational, customer service, marketing and communication skills from the family business into my day-to-day practices in real estate. I’ve added market knowledge; negotiation skills, networking, writing and I continue to learn new things on a daily basis.

When I am not working, and I love working; I enjoy movies, reading, photography, crocheting, learning new things, scrapbooking, sewing and most of all hanging out with my family & friends.

I hope this brief synopsis of my life has offered you enough insight to help you see I am a person first. I am also a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, survivor and entrepreneur.  A Real Estate agent is just part of who I am. Make no mistake about it, being a Realtor® is harder than it looks.
